নির্বাচনের ফলাফল নিয়ে গণমাধ্যমের খণ্ডিত উপস্থাপনায় আপনারা হতাশ বা বিভ্রান্ত হবেন না। জামায়াতে ইসলামী ও ১১ দলীয় জোটের ভোট প্রাপ্তির পরিসংখ্যান অনেক শক্তিশালী বার্তা বহন করে। প্রদত্ত প্রায় ৭ কোটি ভোটের মধ্যে জামায়াত-নেতৃত্বাধীন জোট ৩৮ দশমিক ৫০ শতাংশ ভোট পেয়েছে। প্রায় ২ কোটি ৭০ লাখ নাগরিক এই জোটের ওপর তাদের আস্থা স্থাপন করেছেন। এটি একটি বিশাল ও অত্যন্ত তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ জনরায়।
বাংলাদেশ জামায়াতে ইসলামী অতীতের অনেক রেকর্ড ভঙ্গ করে আজ দেশের ইতিহাসে অন্যতম বৃহৎ বিরোধী দল হিসেবে আত্মপ্রকাশ করেছে। ২০০৮ সালে মাত্র ২টি আসন থেকে আজ কোটি কোটি মানুষের সমর্থন আমাদের প্রতি জন আস্থার বহি:প্রকাশ। ঐতিহাসিক অগ্রযাত্রার শুরু। দেশের প্রায় অর্ধেক ভোটার সংস্কার, জবাবদিহিতা এবং নীতিভিত্তিক রাজনীতির পক্ষে অবস্থান নিয়েছেন।
এখন আমাদের সময় এসেছে শৃঙ্খলা ও রাজনৈতিক পরিপক্বতা প্রদর্শনের। আসুন, সরকারকে জবাবদিহিতার আওতায় আনতে আমরা গঠনমূলক ভূমিকা পালন করি। পরবর্তী নির্বাচনে জনগণের আরও ব্যাপক ভিত্তিক আস্থা অর্জনের জন্য নিজেদের প্রস্তুত করি। আমরা আমাদের সংগঠনকে আরও শক্তিশালী করব, দলীয় ঐক্যকে সুদৃঢ় করব এবং সুস্পষ্ট লক্ষ্য ও উদ্দেশ্য নিয়ে সামনে এগিয়ে যাব।
আমাদের এই পথচলা অব্যাহত থাকবে। ত্যাগ ও পরিশ্রমের কারনে সম্ভাবনাময় ভবিষ্যৎ আমাদের জন্য অপেক্ষা করছে। আল্লাহ নিশ্চয়ই আমাদের পরিপূর্ন বিজয় দান করবেন।
Do not be disheartened or distracted by selective media presentations of the results. The actual numbers tell a far stronger story. Out of approximately 70 million votes cast, the Jamaat-led alliance secured 38.50% translating into nearly 27 million citizens placing their trust in this movement. That is a national mandate of immense scale and significance.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has broken many records and stands today as the largest opposition force in the country’s history. From just 2 seats in 2008 to commanding the confidence of tens of millions, this is not retreat, it is historic expansion. Nearly half the electorate stood with reform, accountability and principled politics.
Now is the time for discipline and maturity. Let us play a constructive role in holding the government to account while preparing to earn even greater confidence from the people in the next election. We will strengthen our organisation, deepen our unity and move forward with clarity and purpose. The journey continues and the future remains open.
